Fiber jumper structure

   The fiber jumper (also known as the fiber optic connector) means that the connector plug is installed at both ends of the cable to realize the optical path active connection; the plug is called the pigtail at one end. Optical Fiber Patch Cord/Cable is similar to coaxial cable except that there is no mesh shield. The center is the light-transmitting glass core. In a multimode fiber, the core has a diameter of 50 μm to 65 μm, which is roughly equivalent to the thickness of a human hair. The single mode fiber core has a diameter of 8 μm to 10 μm. The outside of the core is surrounded by a glass envelope having a lower index of refraction than the core to maintain the fiber within the core. Next to it is a thin plastic jacket to protect the envelope.
 
  The classification and overview of fiber patch cords are as follows
Optical fiber jumpers (also known as fiber optic connectors), that is, fiber optic connectors that are connected to optical modules, are also various and cannot be used interchangeably with each other. The SFP module is connected to the LC fiber connector, and the GBIC is connected to the SC fiber connector. The following is a detailed description of several commonly used fiber optic connectors in network engineering:
 
  1FC type optical fiber jumper: The external reinforcement method is a metal sleeve, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle. Generally used on the ODF side (the most used on the patch panel)
  2SC type fiber jumper: The connector that connects the GBIC optical module. Its outer casing is rectangular, and the fastening method is plug-and-pull type without rotating. (most used on router switches)
  3ST type fiber jumper: commonly used in fiber distribution frame, the outer casing is round and the fastening method is screw buckle. (For 10Base-F connections, the connector is usually ST type. Commonly used for fiber distribution frames)
  4LC Fiber Patch Cable: A connector that connects to an SFP module. It is made with a convenient modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism. (used by routers)
